It’s not everyday a girl gets married. Bouchet Images is all about capturing special moments in life, and few can top the excitement of weddings. Bridal portraits done in advance of a wedding are a great way to ensure that you have some classic shots of the bride, without all the hubbub of trying to squeeze them in on the wedding day itself.
The thing about weddings is that they tend to be very structured and on a strict timeline. We’re always having to move very quickly to be sure to capture all the pictures our brides and grooms would want of their wedding – couple shots, family shots, the bridal party, decorations, bouquet toss, cake cutting, first dance, etc, It can be hard to find a few minutes with the bride alone to take some relaxed portraits of just her. And that’s the key – being relaxed. That’s how you get genuine smiles, laughter, and serene looks. But it can be so hard for a bride really to relax on her wedding day, even in the happiest of celebrations.
That’s the great thing about bridal sessions in advance: we can take our time, breathe, laugh, walk the bride through various poses, and be flexible on location and backdrops, all without having to rush to be sure pics are done before guests arrive or before cocktail hour wraps up. With bridal sessions, we’re able to go at a slower pace, and take tons of pics, giving the bride plenty of options to choose from. They also give us a chance to get know the bride a bit better before the wedding day, which is always a huge plus.
We had a fantastic time doing bridal portraits for our bride here, Cheryl. She was a great sport through the whole shoot, and we were lucky to get the sun setting just right to capture some ‘hazy glow’ shots that are all the rage on Pinterest these days. It’s all about being in the right place at the right time.
Cheryl and her fiance will be tying knot this September and Bouchet Images will be there to capture the special day!
