Portrait photography is all about capturing the special moments in life. Graduating from high school is one of these moments, a time in one’s life that is like turning a page to a new chapter. It’s a celebration of years of studies, accomplishments, friendships, progression and growth. It’s a look ahead to what will come for the next endeavors, and will be a special moment to look back on in the years from now. Although students may no longer exchange wallet size photos with all their friends prior to graduation, these portraits are still treasures for many families. Some will use them for announcements created online with photo collages, others will print and include with formal announcements, some will be framed, others will be posted on social media. Whatever way the pictures are shared or shown, they will always be a special snapshot of a special time. We’re only 17 once, right?
This senior photo shoot was held on the campus of Rice university. The brick walls really give great dimension and lines to the photos. Quinn was a natural in front of the camera – very comfortable and cooperative. We began the shoot with some simple ‘hands in the pocket’ shots and went from there. Hands in pockets, arms folded across chest, leaning against the wall, sitting against the wall, standing straight on, standing at an angle, and so on. We walked him through each pose and Quinn took right to it. The 30-minute shoot flew by. It’s amazing how fast time flies when posing different postures in multiple locations, even with just one subject.
We would like to thank the Khoslas for choosing Bouchet Images. We wish Quinn all the best in these last weeks of high school and great success for his engineering studies at the Colorado School of Mines in the fall! Congratulations!
